British rapper and singer Mathangi “Maya” Arulpragasam MBE, known by her stage name M.I.A just released her first official single titled “The One”, the song is the first taste of her sixth studio album tagged, “MATA“.
“The One” is an uptempo track where she battles ego in pursuit of her truest self, expressing her faith in spirituality. Also M.I.A. revealed that the song was inspired by being in a bright place from a personal point of view, despite crafting it during the COVID-19 pandemic.
