“Bad Habit,” a brand-new song by Steve Lacy, was released along with a music video. The new song is the second to be released by Lacy in advance of the summer release of his upcoming album Gemini Rights.
Most of the instruments on the track were played by Lacy. The song has a lo-fi, homemade vibe that resembles something Prince might have written in the past. Lacy layers his own harmonies, adds a smooth human beatbox breakdown, and sings about romantic sorrow.
The record was produced by Steve Lacy, and written by Matthew Castellanos, John Kirby, Diana Gordon, Fousheé & Steve Lacy. Released on June 29, 2022.
